The truth of what happened in Georgia

The Bush Administration lied about what happened in the Georgia/Russia conflict, and McCain's trumpeting of the Bush policy was dead wrong. They successfully scuttled the actual events from the US media, and spun their own, false version to make McCain look like a foreign policy genius.

However, the US is not the only source of news in the world. The actual events were bound to get out, and they could not be suppressed completely until after the US election.

Bush and McCain were deliberately wrong, playing good old politics with the truth.
