Understanding the outrage
One of the reasons for the outcry against the recently passed health insurance reform bill:
The health care reform law provides $700 million over the next decade in new funds to fight fraud and the Congressional Budget Office estimates that every $1 invested to fight fraud yields approximately $1.75 in savings.
That would be over a BILLION dollars in fraud that will be prevented. The recipients of that fraud are a very powerful special interest, and were keenly interested in killing the bill. Thankfully, they failed.
